Bitter Sweet Endings

Today was Jace's last day at the Stepping Stone School.  We found a school that is more convienently located which will allow us to spend an extra five hours a week with him!  Every moment with Jace is invaluable!  And even though Jace was only at the Stepping Stone School for 2 months, we had a difficult time saying good-bye.  Ms. Cindy, the lead teacher was wonderful to Jace and she worked hard to make us happy.  Seeing Jace smile every morning when he saw Ms. Cindy made leaving him in the care of others so much easier for me. I knew his days were filled with lots of positive stimulation and love.  And I couldn't have asked for a better last day for him... when Francis picked him up today Ms. Cindy handed over Jace's first piece of artwork!  

Next week will be the start of a new experience for Jace.  And I'm sure it will be wonderful, but saying good-bye to Ms. Cindy and the other teachers was much harder than I expected.  We will miss you Ms. Cindy!   

 

A Conversation with Jace

The Gift of Music

Today was the first time Jace saw his dad's band Charlie Hurtin and the Hecklers play. We've been holding off because of the noise level being too much for Jace's little ears, but today the band played outside for a custom and vintage bicycle show at El Mercado Mexican Restaurant.  By the look on his face and the movements of his little body it was obvious Jace was enjoying the music.  I can only imagine what it's going to be like for Jace to grow up with such a cool dad.  Not that my dad wasn't cool, but music just wasn't a big part of my life growing up.  And to know that your dad is responsible for the happiness on people's faces and the positive energy flowing through their dance moves is a gift that I am grateful Jace will experience.  My best contribution will be to fill the house with music from the radio, which I plan to do... but, the real gift of music will come from his dad.
